(20) This SEPAC model spring engaged brake is electromagnetically released and can be used either dry or in oil depending on the type of friction material used.
OPERATION:
When electrical current is supplied to the coil, the armature is attracted to the magnet body releasing the disc to turn freely. When current is stopped, springs push the armature to clamp the friction disc providing the stopping torque. Manual release screws can be provided. Many specials and options are available.
(8) This SEPAC spring engaged, magnetically released Model SEBS is a wall mounted backstop unit.
OPERATION: When power is on, the unit is free to rotate in either direction with no residual torque. When the power is switched off the teeth engage and prevent the load from running backwards. Bearing mounted versions are available with torque arms where the applications require that configuration.
